Engagement counselling has been designed to truly engage individuals in living a healthy, balanced lifestyle that promotes sustained recovery. The program was designed to engage individuals in their recovery and treatment process by supporting them in progressive levels of care. Substance use disorders are comprehensive in nature with its consequences permeating through every facet of an individual, the family system, and society at large. Therefore, the treatment approach must be holistic in nature, addressing every area that is affected and interconnected. The staff at Engagement believes that there are many ways to live a healthy, full, and productive life. Clients are exposed to different pathways to recovery and are given the freedom to choose which will work best for them. The open therapeutic alliance that is formed between the therapist and the client promotes the accountability and support that is needed while a client is navigating, exploring, and learning what is best in their personal recovery journey. Clients are given the knowledge, resources, and tools to be empowered in making informed choices at all levels of care and stages of change.
